Rufus 3.9 For Windows, Linux and Android

AZHALENA.COM: Rufus is a freeware that can be used to create a Bootable USB / flash disk, this is useful if you want to make installation media from USB (Windows, Linux, etc.). The use of a bootable USB flash drive (flashdisk, memory stick and others) will be very beneficial for a computer technician or laptop owner, especially a netbook or notebook that does not have a CD / DVD drive.

Besides being faster in the installation process than using CD / DVD media, using USB makes it easier for us to update the BIOS, recover passwords, check and analyze an operating system.

The Windows Operating System supported by Rufus is Windows XP (SP2 or higher), Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. Rufus also supports Linux such as Arch Linux, Hiren’s Boot CD, Parted Magic, Knoppix, Kubuntu, OpenSUSE, CentOS, Fedora and various other distributions.

This utility also has a FreeDOS option, so you can use it to boot a computer or laptop in DOS mode. Very useful and makes it easy for you to do a BIOS upgrade process that requires the DOS command prompt.

How to use Rufus

1. Download from link above, extrack and install or just click it, if (portable version).

2. Plug in the flashdisk to a computer or laptop: Please attach the flashdisk to a laptop or computer to make sure it has been detected in the Windows Explorer window.

3. Open Rufus: Directly open the rufus application, either portable or installer, it will look like the picture below. In the “DEVICE” section, also make sure the flashdisk has appeared complete with its storage capacity.

4. Select the ISO File according to the OS to be installed: Please just select SELECT as shown below. Then please go to the folder where the operating system ISO file is stored. We example install Windows 10 below, then just click then open.

5. Boot Selection Settings: Next is to set Boot Selection, the application will automatically display the operating system version that we loaded earlier. For Partition schemes, please select the MBR and Target system to be BIOS (or UEFI-CSM) as shown below.

6. Setting Format Option: Enter Format option, please name the Volume Label according to you. Then set the File system to NTFS. Then Show advanced format options then check Quick Format and create extended labels and icon files as shown below.

7. Starting the Bootable Making Process: To start the process please click START, then a warning window will appear and just press OK. Wait until the booting process is complete and the system operation is complete. More or less it will take 10 to 12 minutes depending on the size of the operating system.

8. Bootable Making Completed: Look at the picture below, if the status is green and the “READY” text appears, the process of making a bootable flashdisk is complete. Please press the close button and the flashdisk is ready to use, don’t forget to eject the flashdisk safely.

Note: Don’t forget to backup the contents of the flashdisk, because Rufus will automatically format the flashdisk you are using.
